ABOUT US

Free Life Recovery Center was founded by Roland Williams, MA, NCACII, CADCII, SAP. Roland is a nationally recognized addictions counselor, author, trainer and motivational speaker. He has been working in the field of substance abuse treatment since 1986. As a resident of Petaluma and a member of the Recovering community himself, Roland saw a need to offer services in Sonoma County, where there is a significant problem with alcoholism and substance dependence. Roland has a strong commitment to providing comprehensive, direct and compassionate care to those individuals who are seeking Recovery from their addictions.

With a staff of like-minded Certified Addictions professionals Free Life Recovery Center offers a full range of comprehensive services to our community.

OUR GOALS

  • To help people get and stay clean and sober
  • To promote Recovery and help this community
  • To offer hope for reconciliation to families that have been torn apart by addiction
  • To make each client feel like they are cared for and that they have a chance to change

Our staff offer the benefits of years of professional and personal experience. We believe in Recovery and our enthusiasm is contagious.

Our program mission is to offer a resource of hope and support to those individuals and their families who are suffering from the pain and frustration of substance abuse. We are experts in helping people get and stay clean and sober. Our staff has multiple years of personal and professional experience and we know much about addiction and recovery, for example:

  • We know that addiction does not discriminate by race, education, social status, age, gender, profession, etc. Anyone and any family can become addicted.
  • We know that substance abuse destroys families, careers, educations, futures and dreams.
  • We know that this is a problem that is easy to get into but hard to get out of.
  • We know that often times people genuinely want to stop but they can't seem to do it on their own.
  • We know that love alone won't get and keep a person clean and sober.
  • We know that abstinence is not Recovery and "going on the wagon" for a few weeks to prove that one doesn't have a problem usually leads right back to using.
  • We know that you don't have to be "on the streets" to have a problem, actually many people who drink and drug too much are gainfully employed and otherwise productive members of society.
  • We know that many people have very serious problems with prescription medications and supposedly "light" substances like marijuana, wine and beer.
  • We know that everyone is not willing, able or even appropriate to go to a 30 plus day live-in rehab center.
  • We know that there is a continuum of abuse to dependence and everyone who uses is not an addict and everyone who drinks is not an alcoholic.
  • We know that people are individuals and therefore effective treatment needs to be tailored to meet your specific clinical needs.
  • We know that many people who abuse substances have co-existing psychiatric issues as well as a history of trauma and abuse. Those issues must be addressed simultaneously if treatment is to be successful.
  • We know that Recovery is possible and you can stop this vicious cycle now.

Now until December 31st, 2008 we are offering a sliding scale in order to make treatment affordable to those in need. Call now for a free evaluation or to learn more about our program.
